Survivorship Program
SHAREing and CAREing
is proud to be an affiliate of the

LAF_SurvivorshipCenterExcellence

Generous funding from the Lance Armstrong Foundation supports SHAREing & CAREing’s programs and services that focus specifically on the needs of cancer survivors of all ages and their families.

There are currently 23 LIVESTRONG Community Affiliates in the LIVESTRONG Survivorship Center of Excellence Network. SHAREing and CAREing is the only Community Affiliate within the LIVESTRONG Survivorship Center of Excellence Network that is a community- based, support service organization. Working closely and in collaboration with Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Queens Cancer Center and other community organizations, SHAREing and CAREing provides psychosocial services to traditionally underserved cancer survivors.

The survivorship programs at SHAREing and CAREing can help you and your family cope with cancer if you were just diagnosed, are undergoing active treatment or are post-treatment. Our programs and services encourage healing through education and support.

Here are some of the free services we offer:

  • Individual counseling and support for emotional, social and practical issues
  • Referrals to community resources
  • Support groups, seminars and workshops addressing family, financial and employment concerns
  • “Buddy” programs where long-term survivors can mentor those who are newly-diagnosed
  • Wellness programs including information on nutrition, exercise, managing fatigue and reducing stress
  • Social outings, creative activities, holiday potlucks, a range of supportive programs

and much more...
